To be held in Málaga (Spain) on February 8-12, 2010. The first edition of this series of schools took place in Barcelona in 2007.

These schools on simulation and numerical analysis of Partial Differential equations (PDEs) are aimed at master students, PhD students, recent PhD doctorates, and researchers in general willing to update their knowledge with recent developments on numerical techniques that play an important role in the international scene. As this type of equations appears in the mathematical modeling of many physical phenomena, researchers coming from different fields (mathematics, physics, engineering, biology, economics, etc) can be interested.

The core of the school will be composed by four courses, consisting of 4 lectures plus a computer lab-session. In this edition the courses are the following:

* High-order schemes for hyperbolic systems.
E. F. Toro. University of Trento (Italy).

* The dynamics of shallow fluid flows: Modeling and numerical analysis.
Sebastian Noelle. University of Aachen (Germany).

* Stochastic Methods for Integral Equations: Monte Carlo Methods.
Lorenzo Pareschi. University of Ferrara (Italy).

* Computational Methods of Physical Problems with Mixed Scales.
Shi Jin.University of Madison (USA).

The courses will be complemented with the following seminars:

* Numerical solvers for kinetic equations in semiconductors theory and neuroscience.
María José Cáceres (University of Granada).

* High-order numerical solution in geophysical applications: tsunami and earthquake.
Cristóbal Castro (University of Munich).

* Sublinear scaling algorithms for the study of the electronic structure of materials.
Carlos García Cervera (UC Sta Barbara).

* Numerical simulation of sediment transport in shallow water equations.
Tomás Morales de Luna (University of Córdoba).

* Adaptive Cross Approximation.
Sergej Rjasanow (University of Saarland).

To encourage the active participation of attendees, especially from young researchers, there will be a poster session. Interested participants are invited to submit abstracts for the poster session. A number of grants for students will be available.

All the information about abstract submission, registration, important dates, and application for grants can be found on the web site:
