Two main activities are included in the CONSULTING Platform: one is aimed at promoting interdisciplinary research in collaboration with other associations (academic line), and the other at the transfer of mathematical technology transfer to the business and industrial fields. To this end, Mathematica Consulting will offer its specialised consulting services to the academic community in general, and act as a link between academic groups and the business and industrial worlds. Furthermore, it will act as a consultant in the preparation of proposals in this line to the VII Framework Programme, European Research Council, etc.).

The achievement of this objective will be tackled by means of the following instruments:

• The Consulting Platform will count with one or several project managers, preferably with a doctorate and wide experience in the research transfer field, in order to act as technical coordinator of this activity and also to be in charge of the intermediary activities in the two lines.
• Mathematica Consulting will seek to intensify collaboration concerning the development of technological and innovation between the i-MATH research groups and the corresponding groups in industry through the organisation of forums and meetings. Such collaboration will mainly be centred on problems that lend themselves to study by mathematical, computational and/or statistical methods.
